Module 2: Diabetic Foot Management in Practice (2024/11/12)
Introduction
Module 2 spans a two-day in-person session dedicated to the comprehensive management of diabetic foot conditions. Aligned with both national and international guidelines, this advanced course empowers participants to acquire and refine skills essential for conducting vascular and neuropathic assessments. The practical sessions encompass:
- Evaluation of Vascular and Neurological Functions
- Assessment of Foot and Skin Conditions
- Debridement of Calluses and Necrotic Tissue
- Offloading and Pressure Redistribution
Upon completion of the module, learners will possess the capability to formulate an individualized management plan for diabetic foot ulcers, adopting a holistic approach to enhance the overall well-being of the patient. Additionally, this module facilitates exposure to cutting-edge technologies that impact the healing process in diabetic foot care. As a mandatory component, participants are expected to engage in a 4-hour practical session at an accredited Wound Care Centre.

Certification
To qualify for the certificate of completion for this short course, participants should fully attend the course and successfully complete the assessment process and practical hours. The course is accredited for 16 CPD points (HPCSA)
