PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

As the Manager, RX Verification Operations, you will lead a remote team of non-exempt pharmacy technicians, ensuring accurate and compliant medication verification processes. Your primary focus will be on maintaining high standards of quality, pet safety, and customer satisfaction while fostering a positive and productive remote work environment. You will implement established strategies and procedures, optimize workflow, develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs), and ensure efficient communication with veterinarians for verification approvals within our online pet pharmacy. Your leadership will be crucial in developing your team's skills, fostering their professional growth, and ensuring their success in a remote setting

DELIVERABLES

Verification Operations:

  • Execute and maintain established medication verification processes in accordance with federal and state regulations.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely verification of medication orders, prescriptions, and dispensing.
  • Monitor and manage the daily verification activities of the remote pharmacy staff, providing guidance and support.
  • Implement and enforce compliance with regulatory requirements related to medication dispensing.

Remote Team Management & People Development:

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop a remote team of non-exempt pharmacy technicians.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback, tailored for a remote environment.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and engaging remote work environment, promoting team cohesion and communication.
  • Schedule and manage team workflow to ensure efficient verification operations, considering remote work dynamics.
  • Develop and implement remote-specific training and onboarding for new team members.
  • Create and implement individual development plans for remote team members, focusing on skill enhancement and career growth.
  • Implement strategies for effective communication, motivation, and performance management in a remote setting.
  • Address and resolve remote team member issues and concerns promptly and professionally.

Process Improvement:

  • Implement and adhere to pharmacy policies and procedures to optimize efficiency and safety.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for process improvement, adapting to the remote work context.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of process improvements, with a focus on remote workflow optimization.
  • Work with leadership to implement new technology to aid in the verification process, ensuring seamless integration for remote team members.

Communication and Collaboration:

  • Liaise with veterinarians to obtain verification approvals for online pet pharmacy customers, utilizing remote communication tools effectively.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless pharmacy operations, maintaining clear communication channels for remote interactions.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, leadership, and external stakeholders, utilizing various remote communication platforms.

YOUR EXPERIENCE

  • 3-5 years of pharmacy operations experience, including at least 4 years in a role with direct supervisory or management responsibilities
  • Demonstrated experience in medication verification processes and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Experience in the Pet Health Industry is a plus.
  • Experience with ecommerce is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficiency in pharmacy software and technology.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Detail-oriented ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and quality standards related to pharmacy operations.
  • Commitment to patient safety and quality care.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
